Rosanna Hille, B.A. and M.Ed. in Adult Education Rosanna brings her adult education perspective to the partnership with skills developed through working with international and Canadian non-profit organizations. Rosanna’s international and intercultural awareness, and practical experience in community development, team building, project management and communications, comes from 15 years managing a diverse international development organization with 75 member organizations across the globe. Prior to that, Rosanna worked as the education director with several Canadian co-operative housing federations to assist people manage their own housing. In her approach Rosanna uses participatory strategies to develop local leaders, build teams, improve communication and networks, facilitate mutual learning to improve practice and help organizations and institutions find better ways to meet the needs of those they serve. Rosanna is a skilled group facilitator, education programmer, trainer of trainers, mentor, communicator and leader. Moussa Magassa, B.A. (Hons) and M.A. in Human Security and Peacebuilding Moussa currently works as a Human Rights Education Advisor for the University of Victoria where his focus is to enhance understanding of and commitment to the university's human rights and equity goals, through educational trainings and presentations. His duties include designing human rights education and diversity curriculum, and mediating human rights conflicts. Moussa also works as an instructor and teaches courses in “Cultural Diversity: Managing disputes inside and outside Canada”, “Beyond Diversity & Human Rights: Creating inclusive organizations and communities", “Immigration & Refugees Studies: the Canadian context", and "Indigenous conflict resolution approaches" as a module in the course “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Sub-Saharan Africa.” Before joining UVic, Moussa worked with an immigrant service agency in Vancouver, coordinating integration and adaptation programs for immigrants and refugees in Canada. Moussa has worked extensively in the international field on post-conflict Peacebuilding projects in South Africa, Uganda, Thailand and Ethiopia. Before immigrating to Canada, Moussa worked in the demilitarization field in post-Apartheid South Africa, specializing in conflict analysis/resolution and non-violence peace education curriculum design, training young adults in "alternatives to violence" conflict transformation skills.
